I am not someone who writes reviews or is negative in nature. But the way I was treated by Cottmans Transmission on North New Hope Road in Raleigh was disrespectful and a huge financial loss to me and my family. I brought in my sons jeep to have the transmission repaired. They recommended it rebuilt. We said ok. They charged us alot of money to completely rebuild the transmission. When we picked it up, it did not shift right. We brought it back, they said it is nothing they can do about it. Then a month after the 1 year warranty, the transmission completely failed. They said they wanted nothing to do with the vehicle. The jeep is a daily driver and has never been off roading. Instead they told me it had. They made excuses for there lack of ability to fix a transmission and back their work. I would not recommend this place to my enemies.

I took my Ram Diesel truck in for diagnosis, as I experienced some slippage when towing my 35 foot 5th wheel. Spoke with Ray Boyd at length, he sent a Technician (Chris) with me on a road trip with the trailer to monitor the transmission while under load. From that ride I was given a time for repairs and a not to exceed price for the work. The transmission was fixed in the stated time and the price was what was stated. I have taken the truck back for a check-up prior to going on an extended summer trip towing 12,000 pounds, and have the confidence in Chris's work and Ray's Guarantee of 3 years/36000 miles. I would recommend them to anyone and will take my other vehicles to them if needed.

On January 18, 2016, my "baby" a 1999 Acura 3.2 TL that I purchased with 007 miles on turned 17 years old! After 356,466, her transmission began to slip and I knew it was time to have work done because the idea of getting a new car was not an option. We have been together far too long and I could not bear the idea of replacing her. I googled transmission shops and Cottman's and AA### were the two primary companies that appeared. I had her checked out by the "A" place but did not feel comfortable with the mechanic. I left there and went to Cotmann. I didn't need another opinion and would not trust anyone else to work on such a prized possession. The over 100 years of experience in that building, delivered outstanding results, a day ahead of schedule, and a once again high performance vehicle!! I can't say enough about Cottman, except .... My name is Ashlee Jones and I just want to say how great of an experience we had with Cottman Transmission in Raleigh NC. From the first conversation until the day we picked our truck up we had nothing but a GREAT experience. Getting an almost $3000 job done on our Truck was very stressful and time consuming but Cottman made it as smooth as they could on their end.
