Josh with Ace Hardware Handyman Services installed a book case for me today. I couldn't find anyone who would do it for me!! The whole process was professional, yet personal. Josh is very a experienced handyman!! I would certainly trust him to do other jobs for me. I was impressed with his knowledge and work ethic. This was a good thing!!

The job was to lag 6 porch posts, each having 4 lag bolts per, to a cement porch. I sent plenty of pictures and talked to him about what would need done before he even got to our house. When our handyman arrived, he didnt have the proper tools for drilling into cement so i had to loan him my drill hammer and the bits for it. As he got going he would drill one of the 4 spots on 1 post, then sit and take a 10 min break then do another. (That went on for the whole job.) Each little problem he ran into, he would stop and have to leave. Instead of moving on and going back to the collected issues. I understand he had to go get different lags than the ones that came with the porch kit. But he had to go back to the store 3 other times. Once for more drill bits, then another time for shimes, which I get those, but he had to go back the 3rd time cuz he only bought a pack of 15 lags, knowing he needed 24 (6 posts, 4 lags each =24). The job was estimated to take 4 hours (8 to 12) He was here til almost 4. Then charged me $898 for the job. When he only got 5 of the 6 posts lagged into the cement. Then told me, to get the last one done, I would need to call and set up another appointment. Horrible experience.

Carl, the Handyman sent to our house, did an outstanding job creating a covering for our patio battery bank (solar backup), repainting our shutters, putting sweeps on our doors, and several other things on our list. He was professional, courteous and skilled. We love what he did and want him back again!
