Disappointed
I am very sorry to say my latest handyman service did not go well. I needed 6 new curtain rods installed and after setting up an appointment I was told Tom would be out at 10 am. He showed up, we talked about the job and he took pictures. After further discussion.. he offered to fill the holes left from the old hardware. In no way, shape or form did I ask. His exact words were "I have some filler in the truck if you want me to fill the old holes". My exact response was "that would be wonderful thanks!" After he finished, he took pictures, I paid him and he was on his way. The next morning I took all of the sheers down to wash them because I had taken them right out of the package before Tom arrived. To my horror and surprise the holes were not filled, he left some of the old hardware attached to the walls and there were pencil marks left on the walls from where he measured. ( I didn't notice the day before because the sheers were covering the holes) I take partial responsibility for not being thorough. I called the office and asked to have Tom come back and explained the situation, an appointment was set up for 11 am which was later changed to 1pm. Tom himself called and asked why he needed to come back. I explained about the holes he said that was not part of the agreement (really?), I also mentioned the old hardware, his response was that also was not part of the agreement. Why on two occasions was I handed old hardware that he had take out of the walls himself? You missed 3 pieces of old hardware! Just say I'm sorry I missed them. Then Tom said he would fill the holes but not paint them. I never asked him to paint. I never even mentioned the pencil marks because this conversation was going downhill fast. He said he was running late doing some work for his boss and wouldn't be able to come out until 2, I said fine, hung up and thought about the whole ordeal and called the office and told them not to send Tom out because I decided to find someone else. Would I hire ACE HANDYMAN SERVICES again? Yes, probably. Would I have the same person come out? No. Will I recommend ACE again? Probably but with a caution on whom should not be the handyman. One bad experience is not going to sway me from totally dismissing ACE as a go to Handyman Service but I will be more thorough in the future. Tammie P.

Consummate Professional, Easy to Work With
We had Jason over to do several diverse jobs for us.: fixing some pickets in our fence, scraping popcorn texture around a skylight and re-texturing, caulking cracks around window sills, reattaching trim to an attic door, and fixing a hard-to-reach toilet fixture. Jason did all of these jobs well and with a great attitude. We were amazed that he was able to easily fix our toilet to our satisfaction after we had been previously frustrated that another craftsman and a plumber had failed to completely fix the toilet issue. Jason was certainly a joy to work with! He is a consummate professional and takes a lot of pride in his work!

Patch drywall and install light fixture
David did a good job patching a hole created by a towel rod pulling off the wall. Also installed a new light fixture in my sewing room. He was fast and efficient. Set up an appointment for an electrician to check wiring on another problem I was having.

Happy Customer
Jason performed a small roof heat trace replacement for me over my front porch. He was polite and personable and performed well. However, he had no experience in heat trace installation. Therefor, I had to go up on the ladder and guide him through the installation. The end result was a good installation and I enjoyed working with him. I was a little disappointed with Ace Handyman management as they knew the job entailed working up on my roof. Apparently, management did not tell Jason to bring an extension ladder because when he arrived and looked at the job he said he did not have a ladder tall enough to reach my singled story roof. Therefor, I had to get down my extension ladder for him to do the job. It is a bit frustrating to hire and pay for a service and wind up supplying some of the tools as well. I would be happy to use Jason again on future jobs.

Prompt, professional, efficient
We had a great experience with Joshua as our handyman. He was polite, professional and got our task list done efficiently and neatly. He was also very nice to our yellow lab. We would hire him again and highly recommend ace handyman.

A happy surprise
I was happily surprised that Ace Handyman was able to schedule with us within just 24 hours notice! We tried Lowe’s previously, and without writing an essay about that experience, let’s just say that they were unreliable and had poor communication skills. We desperately needed a new door. We had an old wooden door that was rotting and didn’t quite fit the frame so we were losing money on electric and were at a security risk as well (courtesy of the previous homeowners). We were scheduled for noon but got a surprise visit around 9 instead. This made me nervous at first because already we had a schedule change, but they kept us in the loop and had some schedule changes due to coverage (which is reasonable given the state of things, and we were just happy that someone came early instead of not at all!) I was not there personally, but according to my husband, Joshua was communicative, friendly, and gave him updates all along the way. He did the entire job himself, and I gave it a few days to make sure we didn’t have any major issues, but I’m happy to report that our new door is functioning wonderfully. He did extra work for us sawing through the old and improperly installed frame, and he even helped us drill in our new lockbox into our brick, which was more than kind of him. I used to work for Ace, but I don’t know why I never thought that they had their own handyman’s service. They charged us a fair rate (lower than what lowes would have charged), and the finished product was exactly what we needed. If you are in need of quicker service, and you can’t afford an expensive independent company because times are hard, I absolutely recommend Ace Handyman, and Joshua specifically. Shoutout to one of the good ones!
