My Mom has lived at BeeHive Homes of Lafayette for 7 months and I cannot express how grateful I am to them. I had cared for my Mom mostly by myself for the past decade. My parents lived near me for about 10 years than moved in with me when they could no longer make it on their own, even with a lot of my help. They lived with me 3 years so I really understand how difficult it is to care for someone with dementia. It got to the point that I could no longer do it without much more help. Mom has her own room and bathroom furnished with her things. Her pictures and paintings are on the walls. The facility is new and clean. The staff to resident ratio is excellent! There are some scheduled activities and entertainment, but residents are free to watch TV in the common living room area or at tables in the dining area. The staff are kind and patient and very respectful of the residents and they are very responsive to family concerns. My brother and I visit often and we are able to observe how care is given. It takes a village to care for someone with dementia and the BeeHive Home of Lafayette is now part of my village.
