We had the great fortune to get Sean to come to our home to repair/replace base boards and also gave him the challenge of making new window sills in 2 bedrooms. Handyman Matters came to my dental office and inspected a window that had caulking that was leaking in rain water at a slow rate. The window is installed at sidewalk level up 12 feet to the roofing. The base is mounted in concrete with concrete self leveling rubber caulk, a normal standard. There is a caulk bead that is above the self leveling rubber that showed some splitting. It is where the suspected water is entering the building because the side walk tilts towards the window and puddles occur during some rain storms. There were some cracks between the stucco and the sidewalk south of the window. The window caulk it 8.5 feet and the south side stucco opening was 1.5 feet. The technician said he would clean the existing rubber concrete seal and caulk over it instead of removing all the old caulk. He also caulked 1.5 feet to the south to seal the stucco and sidewalk. He also said he would caulk vertically up the window 3 feet on each side. After inspection he never caulked the vertical 3 feet on each side. Even with $65 dollars road fee , One hour work which is generous $30.00, ( highly trained tech) . Supplies and travel to get them $60.00 and $ 150.00 for the owner would come to $305.00 My bad for allowing this to occur, If I use them again , doubtful , I will make sure I'm not in the middle of seeing patients and can focus on their services.
