Warren is outstanding. He carefully and meticulously patched, textured, and painted two places in my ceiling, kitchen and hallway, which had been cut into to provide for recessed lighting. He came up with a plan to rehang closet doors which had come unattached. This was significantly more reasonable than the original approach. He was courteous and answered all questions and completed work in one trip which had originally been planned for three.

A bifold door for a closet in one of our rental units needed fixing. Handyman Matters was able to come by and fix the door within 3 days and fix the problem for our renters, who called us to say that the handyman was very professional.

Quick and efficient.

I just inherited this house and didn't know where connections were or what needed to be done. The guy who came out did work that out. My issue came in the fact that I thought starting up the swamp cooler would be making sure it was up and running properly. Once it was connected, the person who had come out said it needed oil, which we didn't have , but would have expected him to have. Ultimately he left the panels off and told us to go to Home Depot to get it, which we did and oiled it ourselves. We then began using it and we have water leaking down the roof, enough to create puddles under the nearby down spouts and the unit runs rough. I emailed about coming back out and haven't gotten a response, so contacted another company to come out.

We originally paid $150 to have handyman matters come out and give us a quote for railing and banister installation. We were then quoted around $2200 for the install and were told that the $150 would be credited back after installation. On the day of the install, the foreman told us that new owners had taken over Handyman Matters and that the project would now cost $3,360! And we would not get out $150 back either. This was a huge bait and switch, and it being the day of install, we really didn't have a choice but to move forward as we had scheduled time off, gotten all materials ready, etc. We did have them add a clear coat to the wood which was an extra $300 for that, so that should have then brought it up to $2500. Also surprisingly, the original paperwork of the $2200 bid disappeared when we left it unattended on a counter while we were told to get more supplies (which weren't even needed/used!) Also the craftmanship is ok but not great. One section of banister and a newel post is noticeably crooked/not level, several baluster shoes are chipped and damaged. There is a gouge in a part of the floor (looks like a hammer or chisel missed) several shoes on. One long piece of trim did not get clear coated at all. Several shoes do not sit flush with the underside of the railings.

I've always been happy with Handyman Matters and felt they were fair but I was not happy this time. I feel like I was taken to the cleaners financially. $250 to attach a small rectangle of wood that took 20 minutes? Ridiculous!
